FBI Shooting Investigated in Philadelphia;  there is an injured person

An FBI agent shot and wounded a subject on a warrant for his arrest and search on Friday in Philadelphia.

The incident was reported to have taken place in the 1700 block of West Venago Street.

The federal agency notified in writing that its agents were serving an arrest and search warrant at a home in that area when the shooting occurred. The suspect was injured and was transported to the hospital.

At the moment the state of health of the person affected is unknown, but none of the officers was injured in the altercation.

“The FBI takes all incidents involving our agents seriously. In accordance with our policy regarding shootings at official hands, the incident will be under the review of the Corps Inspections Division. We have no further details.”

The entire incident remains under investigation.
