AAssuming the motto “The street you want”, the eighth edition of the festival maintains as its main focus the dynamization of the historic center of Leiria, having as its nerve center the centenary Rua Barão de Viamonte, better known as Rua Direita.
Assuming this “very special mission”, the organization promised to “discover the street that leads to the right, but which extends crookedly”, where, in the central axis and in the alleys that depart from it, “some of the greatest treasures of the city”.
Porta once again wants to “discover who lives on the street where Leiria’s heart beats”, reads the statement released today.
The program once again focuses on music, installations, themed dinners, performances, fairs and activities for families in the oldest part of Leiria, in association with the community that lives there.
“Porta wants to raise the potential of this ‘Avenida Direita’ and make it a place to be, observe, reflect, in a true involvement with the city”.
The first names of the program released today include Cave Story, Unsafe Space Garden, Femme Falafel, A Sul, Soluna, equinocio, nëss, bbb hairdryer, Cookie Jane and O Baile Todo b2b Alex D’Alva.
In addition to Rua Direita, the festival will once again extend to private homes that open their doors to themed dinners and to Jardim da Vala Real in activities that appeal to artistic creation, civic participation and sustainability.
