A team of broken arms, a kidnapping that goes wrong, a car that starts with a bang… it is with a frantic chase that The Getaway starts. The first PS2 game to be banned for those under 18 (the PEGI standard does not yet exist), the English thriller suffered a huge media hype when it was released. Sade’s pianist to the music, photorealistic restitution of London, shootings and chastised language, it was enough for the controversy machine to get carried away. Banned in many brands (Carrefour, Auchan, Casino, Toys “R” Us…), Sony’s protege finally abandoned a lot of promises on the way and the result, in large widths, did not live up to expectations.
