Next August marks 10 years since the incredible resurrection of Final Fantasy XIV, which originally launched in 2010. Since then, every two years, players have been treated to massive expansions, which have made the MMO one of of the most popular games of the genre. But Square Enix could change its ways.

In 2015, players of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn were treated to a first expansion, titled Heavensward. It was followed by Stormblood in 2017, Shadowbringers in 2019, and then Endwalker. This latest expansion, released on December 3, 2021, is came to conclude the enormous screenplay arc centered on the powerful planetary consciousnesses Hydaelyn and Zordiarche, launched years before.
The players nevertheless remain busy, since the 6.3 update was released in Januaryand it is already the third major update of the extension. In this regard, remember that the Digital Fan Fest will be divided into three sessions: one in Las Vegas in July, another in London in October, and one last in Japan in early 2024.
According to Gamerant, it is during this third session of the event dedicated to fans that the next expansion should be announced. Whatever happens, it will be extremely awaited, since beyond the content, it should allow the game to upgrade to version 7.0.
