Firefighters have to save an unconscious man from his apartment. The man was taken to a special clinic with serious injuries.

A man was seriously injured in a fire in an apartment building in Dortmund-Marten. The unconscious man had to be rescued from his apartment by the emergency services, as the fire brigade announced on Friday evening. Previously, the emergency services had to gain access using a jet pipe.

The injured man was taken to a special clinic. Residents noticed the fire in the ground floor apartment on In der Meile on Friday evening around 8:30 p.m. and alerted the fire brigade.

The residents then had to be evacuated. The emergency services managed to bring the fire under control within a short time. The cause of the fire was initially unknown. The injured man is no longer in mortal danger, according to the police.

15 residents and neighbors, who had to experience what happened first hand, were cared for at the scene by emergency services from the fire brigade. However, they were able to return to their homes around 10 p.m. (dpa/red)
