On Thursday evening, the rescue and fire brigade control center was informed about a fire in an inn in the Silvretta Montafon ski area.

Since the fire occurred at an altitude of 2101 meters above sea level, the entire staff of the St. Gallenkirch, Gortipohl and Gaschurn fire brigades had to be brought to the ski area via the Valiserabahn.

The fire itself could be extinguished by a snow groomer driver with a hand fire extinguisher. People who had their accommodation in the inn could be accommodated in an outbuilding. The fire was cleared of smoke by firefighters using blowers. A defective tumble dryer was identified as the cause of the fire. No one was injured, there was only minor property damage.
