Firefighters intervened, Wednesday evening, at the Children’s Hospital in Timisoara, after a release of smoke in a technical room. Approximately 25 children were evacuated and taken to the main body of the building. In September last year, a similar incident took place at the same medical unit.

According to ISU Timiş, quoted by News.ro, the firefighters intervened after smoke was noticed in the technical room at the Children’s Hospital in Timişoara. As a result, approximately 25 children were evacuated, being taken to the main body of the building.
There were no casualties as a result of the incident.
The room was ventilated.
About a year ago, on September 18, 2022, a fire occurred at the same hospital, dozens of children and their mothers being evacuated.
“The incident occurred in the technical room, located on the 1st floor of the building, within the bone marrow transplant department, and the probable cause of the fire, which led to large smoke emissions on the 1st and 2nd floors of the hospital, was the failure during operation of the an electric air purification device”, ISU representatives announced at the time.
