The developers of the Firefox browser have released version 110.0 for download. It is now possible to import bookmarks, history and passwords not only from Edge, Chrome or Safari, but also from Opera, Opera GX and Vivaldi. This as a note in case any of you want to switch.

GPU sandboxing has also been enabled on Windows. One but: A bug in the X-Mouse Button Control (XMBC) tool can cause scrolling with the mouse wheel to stop working. However, the author of the tool is working on an update. In the meantime, scrolling can be restored by reconfiguring XMBC: either disable the Scroll wheel scroll window under mouse cursor option in the global settings, or enable the Disable scroll window under mouse cursor option if you’re using a custom profile for Firefox.

On Windows, third-party modules can now be blocked from injecting Firefox, which can be helpful if they cause crashes or other unwanted behavior. Plus there is here is a help page.

What else? GPU-accelerated Canvas2D is enabled by default on macOS and Linux. There is also an improvement in WebGL performance on Windows, macOS and Linux.
The new version also enables overlaying of hardware decoded videos with non-Intel GPUs on Windows 10/11, improving video playback performance and video scaling quality.

How announced, the colourways were also thrown out. But: Users can still access their saved and active colourways by selecting Add-ons and Themes from the Firefox menu. Also, users can now install Colorways from all previous collections by visiting Colorways by Firefox on the Mozilla Add-ons website.

Last but not least are thesevulnerabilities, some with a severity rating of “High”, have been closed.
