Of course, we know that the somewhat bizarre The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is due for release sometime this year, but apparently there are four more games based on the same brand (ie The Lord of the Rings) in development, all due for release before March 2024.

This was revealed via the Embracer Group’s latest financial results. All of these games are being developed by outside studios, and were apparently in development before Embracer itself took over the license last year:

“In the quarter, Freemode closed the previously announced acquisition of Middle-earth Enterprises. For Freemode, this acquisition has generated a lot of interest among both internal and external partners for The Lord of the Rings IP across different media formats. There are currently five games in production by external partners to be released in financial year 2023/24.”

We know of one of the four secret games, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, which is being developed by Free Range Games. However, we have not been able to see it.
