Thanks to the lifting of travel restrictions to Algeria, many airlines have decided to strengthen their air programs and launch new routes to the national territory. This is the case of the Spanish air carrier Volotea.

Indeed, the latter announced, last November, the launch of two new airlines linking Algeria and Italy. A niche which is also served by the national company, Air Algérie, but also by ITA Airways. As a reminder, the latter has previously expressed its desire to launch two other lines from Italy to Constantine and Oran.

As for the new volotea lines, these are those departing from Algiers airport to those of Venice and Naples. On its schedule, Volotea has announced the establishment of two weekly flights for each of its two lines.

Volotea renounces these two lines to Algeria

In addition, the low cost company Volotea has finally given up the opening of these two new lines. According to Air Journal, the low-cost company ended up withdrawing its program of flights departing from Algiers to Naples and Venice, barely two months after presenting them.

According to this same source, Volotea has obtained authorizations to serve these two airlines to Italy for the summer season 2022, winter 2022/2023, and summer 2023. As a reminder, to ensure the service of its lines to Venice and Naples departing from Algiers, volotea used Airbus A319s to transport passengers between these destinations.

With the cancellation of these two airlines, the low cos air carrier will only serve the airports of Bejaia, Annaba, Constantine, Oran, but also Sétif. And this, from France, in particular from the airports of Marseille and Bordeaux.
