AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins explained that this increase could be related to the fact that Christmas and New Year’s Day in 2023 fall on Mondays and that “traveling on weekends is easier”.
AAA forecasts also indicate that the busiest days on the roads would be Saturday, December 23, Thursday, December 28, and Saturday, December 30.
Jenkins recommended that “if you are thinking about taking a road trip, You should leave early if you can.before lunch time or even after dinner.”
As for the airports, the AAA spokesperson said they expect to see these terminals “crowded.” About 7.5 million air trips are expected during the holidays.

In this regard, Jenkins said that “maybe people think they don’t need it. But realistically, if you are stuck at the airport, travel insurance can be extremely beneficial.”
