The Tampa International Airport projects that between 2025 and 2030 it will have the heliport to provide the air taxi service, as confirmed by the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.

These aircraft will be of the latest generation known as eVTOL. They will establish the landing pads in the Tampa Bay area, near the Hillsborough Community College campus, and across from Raymond James Stadium.

The air taxi will have the capacity to operate a distance between 50 and 100 miles. Brett Fay, director of General Aviation for the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, said it is a project that will come to fruition in the coming years.

Likewise, Fay assured that the location will favor the project due to the proximity of the Hard Rock and the Brandon fairgrounds, Disney and the beaches, for which he considers that it has great potential.

Although the manufacturers of the air taxis do not yet have the certification, they anticipate that they will obtain it in 2024, so the Tampa airport plans to be operating between 2025 and 2030.

as reported REPORTUR.usIn June, United and Eve Air Mobility announced that San Francisco Bay would be the third destination for air taxi service beginning in 2026. (United Air Taxis: San Francisco joins NY and Chicago.)

The flights will be with Eve’s electric vertical takeoff and landing plane. The first route reported by the airline would be between the Manhattan heliport in New York and Newark Liberty International Airport starting in 2025. The same year it will also operate from Chicago.
