The Argentinian Lionel Messi broke the silence this Thursday in his first press conference since his arrival at Inter Miami, a team he led to the Leagues Cup final.
Messi touched on various points such as: adapting to his new city, how he lives the possibility of winning another Ballon d’Or and how he was received in the team, among other topics.
Regarding the possibility of winning the Leagues Cup, he commented: “It would be incredible for me and for all the people who are fans, for the same club that is betting on continuing to grow and having a big change to be a reference team, winning titles helps a lot. and it would be awesome. The truth is that it is very nice how the people of Inter come every game to accompany us. The stadium was always full. It is a very young club and to be able to get our first title would be beautiful for everything“.
“We knew that this competition was starting from scratch because new players and a new coach had arrived and we adapted very well from the first moment thanks to the help of all our teammates who were already there. This was an opportunity to change things and we knew it was a nice opportunity to change that and set ourselves difficult goals but ones we were prepared to compete for,” he said.
In addition, he highlighted the importance of the title for the team: “When I arrived, I did it with enthusiasm and happiness. The desire to continue obtaining results as I have done throughout my career, although it is a surprise to be about to play a final, we had prepared ourselves for this and to achieve this title because we saw ourselves capable of doing it. The team has grown since the arrival of Tata and we are very happy to have fulfilled the first objective of qualifying for the Concachampions”.

Importance of the Ballon d’Or for Messi
On the possibility of winning a new Ballon d’Or, he argued: “I’ve said it many times, the Ballon d’Or is very important for recognition at an individual level, but I never gave it importancebecause the most important thing for me was always the prizes at the group level”.
“I was lucky to have achieved everything in my career and after the World Cup I’m thinking about that award much less, my biggest award was that and I’m disguising my moment. Lastly, he spoke about how his arrival at Inter Miami came about: “My decision went through many things, we thought about it with my wife, my children were also part of the decision, the family in general.
