Technological world: exoskeletons

External skeletons, or exoskeletons, are life-changing for both patients and their caregivers.

It is called assistive technology. And more and more often exoskeletons become a very useful tool in hospitals and care centers for the elderly.

There are different prototypes of exoskeletons, and it is expected that one of these will go on sale in 2024.

For their part, Chinese engineers created another flexible model to help patients regain their mobility in physical therapy after injuries. It was first shown at the Beijing Care and Rehabilitation Fair in China.

“This flexible exoskeleton uses a technology called multimode information integration. You can recognize the next movement of the body to direct energy to that point and be able to lift considerable weights without effort. In addition, it helps patients to regain strength and gives them confidence in their movements.”

A device that writes text messages and emits sounds when the person fixes his gaze for a second on each of the images, also called attention at the China fair, allowing the communication of patients who suffer from motor diseases and cannot communicate through his voice.

Exoskeletons are expected to become common work tools, not only in the healthcare field, but also in the manufacturing and construction industries.
