After announcing the 84 MCs that this 2023 will be distributed among the 6 nations in which the Freestyle Master Series has been implemented, on April 18 Urban Roosters finished outlining the rosters for each of its leagues. Because the FMS Spain began its season on Saturday, April 22, the MCs that make it up and their respective groups were revealed a week before. there was that it was learned that the Argentine Mecha was the first transferred to one of the most prestigious leagues, the Spanish one.

But he was not the only national freestyler that UR decided to put in another league. This was, among others, the center of the controversy surrounding the latest changes made by the Spanish company within the framework of the so-called Regenesis. klanknown as the King of the Plazas and champion of the Red Bull 2021, will now compete in the FMS Chile. While the Santa Fe Stuartowner of the national league belt in 2021, this year will reach Colombia.

Three of the most popular MCs in Argentina (the other is Mecha) now they belong to another league. And a fourth, Papo, current champion, did not even make the final roster – and he found out about this through UR social networks when he was not included in the images. Small detail.

Of course, not only did participants leave the league, but new ones also arrived: the Spanish mr ego and the mexican rapder. These brand new signings include the locals G Sony (The Fifth Step competitor, no stranger to battles) and the young CTZ (Red Bull 2022 runner-up). There is also a return: that of dtokea freestyler who helped build and develop the scene since Halabalusa’s time at Claypole.

With this, the FMS Argentina was made up of a mix of freestylers who are divided between veterans/new, local/international and familiar with the format or complete rookies in the matter. That each competitor has something to contribute, there is no doubt about that, but between the tide of base modifications that Urban Roosters released with its Regenesis and the mistreatment it had towards its old competitors, the positive of the change was seen, at least, overshadowed

Among the freestyle consumer public there are divided opinions. But the ones who left no ambiguity in their reaction to this were daddy and Nachotwo now former competitors of FMS Argentina.

The first impressions were impregnated on Twitter: “Well from what I see in the flyer I’m not in FMS”, Papo wrote on April 12, referring to the lineup announced by UR in which they shared the 84 faces that would be part of their 2023 season. That same tweet cited Nacho to share his opinion, adding only a reiteration that he agreed with him: “What he said.” UR then rushed to release a statement aimed at “explaining the reasons for the absence of some of the participants who were part of the previous campaign.”

What was that explanation? “A lack of agreement in the negotiations”. This also applied to other names of leagues outside Argentina, such as Yoiker (Mexico) and Necroos (Peru). Papo said of this in a Twitch stream: “The best league in the world disarmed us.” Or in gamer terms: “They nerfed us hard”.

The last champion of the FMS Argentina – crowned on March 5 – maintained that “at first the idea did not seem bad” of the transfers but the move “from theory to practice” left much to be desired. “You own a lot of leagues -he argued, referring to Urban Roosters- you bring out the figures of one of the most important leagues and with the most international repercussions, people react.” “Like, who can take away from me having won the FMS that Mecha, Klan, Stuart, Larrix was there. How difficult, I took the last one very hard, ”he finished.

Nacho, for his part, chose to express himself through what he does best: rapping. Nine days after the news that he would not be part of this FMS was known, he released “True Shit”, a boombap that is reminiscent of Eminem in beat and in the humorous attitude of its interpreter, and in which he launches: “Because I left? Better ask them why they kicked me out.” “Basically it was because I respect myself too much,” he answers himself in the video. The letter is clearly addressed to the directors of Urban Roosters, above all, to its CEO, Asier Fernandez Pasaro.

He went on to ask him that his salaries and that of Papo “shove them up the ass” and towards the end he closes with a sentence that clearly left his addressee stinging: “I know you would love to answer me, but you are not a rapper and that is what hurts you the most”. Not in a rap format, Asier answered him and in somewhat dissonant words for those who say they want to grow the freestyle scene. “The next time you try to get smart thinking that you are going to get a better contract by changing managers for a week when we already had an agreement with your previous manager, you talk to me about corrupting yourself for money,” he wrote in an Instagram story.

The level that Argentine freestylers have shown is more than remarkable. The repercussions (and reproductions) of the FMS events held on national soil far exceed those of other countries, and many of those promoted were looking to reach the league to finally be able to face their greatest figures and give them battle.

It is in this line that there is a feeling that UR has torn apart its Argentine rostertaking the figures to ‘up numbers’ in other leagues (both in YouTube and Twitch views and in tickets cut at the events) and, above all, taking the promise and recent champion of Red Bull 2022 to the league that , judging by the treatment they give her, is the one that matters most to them: the Spanish one.

Saturday June 10 is the date on which the fifth season of the FMS Argentina will begin, but with a month and coins to go, the previous one seems to be hotter than ever.
