Mexico City.- A good diet in the soil helps to keep us healthy, but that health will be reflected in our skin; however, there are some foods that help accelerate the aging of our skin and that in excess damage our health in general.

Oxidants in the body

According to the nutriologist Montserrat Pedraza, even though aging is a natural part of the life cycle, there are factors that accelerate this natural process, such as exogenous ones and that in the body are known as oxidants, which can come from food or substances that we consume “and imply in the organism high consumption of oxygen for its metabolism or absorption and degradation”.

Pedraza explains that oxidants can come from outside, either directly or as a consequence of the metabolism of certain substances, in the latter case, tobacco use.

“Los llamados oxidantes poseen radicales libres. They are chemically very unstable and toxic to the body. Its effects on the organism are called oxidative stress, since they cause alterations in the functioning and the ‘normal’ life of the cells, and even though the organism generates free radicles, it badly occurs when the oxidative stress generates large amounts of radicals that are they produce toxicity in the body by accumulation before the body’s inability to eliminate them effectively”, details the nutriologista.

When the balance between the production and elimination of free radicals is lost “this is when we can decide that we are responsible for accelerating aging”.
