Lots of bands got the party going: Saturday was all over Feldkirch again a Gugga music party

FELDKIRCH On Saturday the whole of Feldkirch turned into a colorful Gugga mile with monster concerts and a flashy night parade through the city. But before that, everyone gathered at the fool’s fair with the cathedral priest Fabian Jochum and episcopal vicar Rudolph Bishop.

After a two-year break, the time has finally come again this year: the big carnival weekend for the people of Spälta in Feldkirch is taking its course. The hustle and bustle began with the fools’ fair in St. Nicholas Cathedral, where the fools got in the mood for the weekend. Dompfarrer Jochum managed to commemorate the victims of the earthquake, but at the same time not to forget the joy of carnival.
The collection will be donated to the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. Among the many guests at the fool’s fair were the mayors, in addition to the people of Spälta and the Altastädtner carnival guild Wolfgang Matt and wife Ingrid. Count Rudolf IX. alias Hubert Schwarz participated in the measurement design. The mass was musically accompanied by the Stadtmusik Feldkirch under the direction of Peter Efferl.

A number of bands in imaginative costumes once again took part in the night parade of the Gugga Musicians in front of the cathedral. 10 Gugga music bands from Switzerland clearly set the tone. This year, the Glunggephoniker from Weisslingen lined up directly after the Spältabürger. This was followed by Notentschlapper from Dübendorf and finally the Paulusschränzer from Lucerne, who later also played at the cathedral. The Bieanda Browse from Oberriet took part directly from the other side of the Rhine. The Guggenmusik Kookaburra from Nürensdorf near Winterthur was also part of the party. The Herischrenzer from Herisau, the Gugge-Mysli from Basel and the X-Large Kapelle from Marthalen also joined the parade. The Swiss Gugga music bands completed the Ziegelhöttler from Hefenhofen and the Krachwanzen from Bettlach. Two Gugga music bands from Germany took part: the “Inschrumendaquäler” from Blaustein near Ulm, the Spielmanns- & Fanfarenzug from Erolzheim from the Allgäu. The Emser Palast-Tätscher and the Rankler Chaos-Tätscher were represented as bands from Vorarlberg and upheld the honor of Gugga music from the Ländle.

After the parade, further open-air square concerts took place at the cathedral, at Sparkassenplatz and in Marktgasse. The open-end party with Gugga shows in the old indoor pool rounded off the night with another explosion of atmosphere. HE
