More of 27,882 hectares were burned during the month of January in the province of currents as a consequence of the forest fires that plague various areas of the country in recent years.

The information was disseminated through a report prepared by the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA) which also indicated that there are currently 641 outbreaks throughout the province.

The last outbreaks were detected in Concepción, San Luis del Palmar, Palmar Grande, Mburucuyá, San Miguel, Villa Olivari, Santa Rosa, Tatacuá, Santo Tomé, Alvear, La Cruz and Sauce and the wetland area that are dry, such as Concepción, Sauce and Mercedes, in the estuary sector.

According to specialists, the number will continue to rise due to the marked droughtthe lack of precipitation and the high temperatures that favor the propagation of the flames.

In fact, for this week they are expected highs of 40 degrees on averagesomething common in Corrientes for this time of year.

Meanwhile, the authorities consider that it is difficult to reverse the situation in the short term, due to the water deficit that the province has suffered for about three years.
