Customs sniffer dog Elvis from Bielefeld is retiring after a successful career. He found 65 pounds of marijuana and 15 pounds of cocaine

After ten years, Elvis, the customs sniffer dog, is going into well-deserved retirement. During the entire time, the four-pawed drug investigator has compiled impressive statistics.

29 kilos of marijuana, 7 kilos of cocaine, dozens of hashish biscuits: During his service, Elvis tracked down pretty much everything that drug dealers would have liked to hide from him. For more than ten years he worked at customs, searching cars, trucks, buses and trains for drugs. The main customs office in Bielefeld has now retired him on his twelfth birthday. “He will spend the rest of his life with the family of his customs dog handler,” said the main customs office in Bielefeld on Monday.

Bielefeld drug sniffer dog: Elvis’ successor is in the starting blocks

In his career, Elvis was not only on the road as a drug investigator, but was also involved in the public relations work of the main customs office in Bielefeld. Elvis was there at schools, in kindergartens, at job fairs and at Girls’ Day.

His successor as a drug sniffer dog at customs in East Westphalia is called Skadi – the young bitch successfully completed her training a few days ago. (dpa/red)
