France: a hunter fatally shot

UA hunter was found mortally wounded by a gunshot this Sunday around 3:30 p.m. The victim was spending the afternoon with a group of hunters, in the Bois de Licques, near Calais. According to the first elements collected, the hunter was isolated from the group when a shot was heard by his comrades, reports The Voice of the North.

The victim was then found on the ground, inert. The firefighters of Ardres and Lumbres as well as the Smur went on site. When they arrived, the victim was already dead. The man was reportedly hit in the chest.

“He is not a resident of the town”, comments the mayor, Brigitte Havart, also present on site. The Bois de Licques is an area prized by hunters. At this time of year (September 18 to February 28), hunters target wild boar. At the time of the events, no game was reported.

THE criminal identification technicians of the gendarmerie, coming from Arras, were mobilized in the wood of Licques. “An investigation has been opened,” said Captain Caulier, of the Boulogne-Calais gendarmerie company.
