Lhe mummified body of a septuagenarian, dead for about three years, was found at the end of December by the firefighters of Libourne, near Bordeaux, we learned Thursday from the prosecution, confirming information from Sud-Ouest.
The victim was discovered on December 31 in an apartment while the emergency services intervened to search for “the origin of a water leak”, specifies the Libourne prosecutor’s office.
An investigation is opened to determine the identity of the victim and to know the circumstances of his death. The first elements indicate that she had been dead “for about three years”, the gendarmerie told AFP.
According to testimonies collected by the newspaper Sud Ouest, the absence of the septuagenarian had not been noticed by the neighborhood.
