Once again, members of the Algerian diaspora in France have been shaken by a new drama. Indeed, last Monday, in a very busy park in the North-East of Paris, part of a cut body, in particular the pelvis, belonging to a woman was discovered in a bag at Buttes-Chaumon.
An investigation was launched for murder, by the Paris prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the criminal brigade of the judicial police. Thus, as part of the latter, much research has been carried out to finally find the other parts of this body, including the head. An autopsy has been initiated and the identity of the victim has been revealed.

The identity of the victim was revealed on Wednesday February 15, 2023, reports BFMTV. This is Assia .M, a 46-year-old Algerian national, who disappeared on January 31. Residing in Montreuil, Assia was the mother of three children aged 8, 14 and 17 respectively.
Assia had left the family home on January 31, has not given any sign of life since. She had left with her identity document, her mobile phone has been affected since her disappearance. A call for witnesses was published on Facebook by one of his children a few days ago. Her husband Youcef reported her missing a few days later, notably on February 6. His family and relatives contacted all the hospitals in the region to find his tracks, but in vain.
Moreover, following the autopsy carried out on the body found, it was the analysis of fingerprints that made it possible to determine his identity.
Victim’s husband heard and released
As part of the investigation to determine the circumstances of this crime, Assia’s husband was heard last Tuesday. Indeed, the investigators wondered about the reasons which pushed him to wait all this time to report the disappearance of his wife.
The latter justified himself by indicating that he “was overtaken by events”, reports BFM. The family home was searched, slight traces, qualified as common traces, were discovered near the bathroom of the victim. The investigation continues to find the author of this crime.
