This Thursday, the organizers announced that the Franco-Algerian actor Tahar Rahim will chair the 48th edition of the César which will take place on February 24 at the Olympia. The Académie des César and Canal+ issued a joint press release in which they describe Tahar as an actor “who has led his career with finesse, moving towards rich, diverse and complex characters, and new experiences”.
As a reminder, the actor is familiar with this ceremony. He indeed won the award for Best Actor and Most Promising Actor in 2010 for his breakthrough performance in Jacques Audiard’s The Prophet.
The 41-year-old actor has forged a career with varied roles that now allows him to be legitimate for such ceremonies.

Tahar Rahim is an actor of Franco-Algerian nationality. He was born in Belfort on July 4, 1981.
The actor comes from a large family of ten children. His father was an Arabic language teacher in Oran, an Algerian city, but left everything to become a worker in France.
The actor explains the choice made by his parents, in an interview with Marie Claire, a French media. He assures : “If they emigrated to France, it was for us, later, so that we could have better living conditions, higher education, good jobs. »
Tahar tried several fields before touching on acting. He initially oriented himself towards sports studies and computer science, then quite naturally turned to cinema. So he left to study cinema in Montpellier, where he filmed in “Tahar l’Etudiant”, and it was there that he was noticed, thanks to his acting skills which stood out.
Determined to become an actor, he left for Paris. Tahar Rahim was all the rage from his debut thanks to his role in “The Prophet”. From his first major role in 2009 in A Prophet, he won the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and Best Film at the Césars. With his interpretation he won the César for Best Male Hope and Best Actor.
His career took on an international dimension from there. He turns in French films but also Hollywood, through Netflix series which earned him a success recognized by all to know that the actor has no less than 8 awards to his credit, and 18 nominations.
