As part of a national vaccination campaign against HPV, all women born in 1994-1999 are now called for vaccination against HPV, at the same time as they are called for pap smears, something that happens every three years.

– The offer also applies to those who have previously been vaccinated against HPV, as the new vaccine provides more effective protection than the vaccine that was given before 2019, says Sara Hogmark.

Can participate in study

The women who are invited to the vaccination will also be offered the opportunity to participate in a study that examines whether vaccination in combination with sampling contributes to a reduction in cervical cancer in Sweden.

– The goal is to eradicate cervical cancer, says Sofia Jarl (C), chairman of the health and medical care board.

Hear in the clip why women born between 1994-1999 should take the vaccine.
