The School Inspectorate decided last spring to withdraw the permit for the elementary school, which was owned by the Foundation for Education. The justification was financial mismanagement, including in the form of tax debts, and that several of the people in the management were therefore unsuitable.
The school, which had around 700 pupils, was closed after last school year but the legal review has continued. The foundation appealed the School Inspectorate’s decision, but was rejected in the administrative court just before Christmas. The foundation has not appealed the administrative court’s decision, and thus the School Inspectorate’s decision stands, writes TT.
The entire process, from the time the School Inspectorate began to examine the principal, has lasted a total of 3.5 years.
