The Annecy prosecutor’s office opened a judicial investigation for “murder of a minor under the age of 15” shortly after the discovery of the bodies on January 1.
The young woman herself revealed “having the bodies of two dead babies at her home” when she called the emergency services to warn them of her suicidal intentions.

Once out of the hospital, she “cooperated fully with the investigators”, according to information obtained Monday from the Annecy prosecutor’s office.
“She admitted to having given birth twice to children who died very quickly after their birth in circumstances that she cannot explain. She indicates that she discovered her pregnancies at the time of delivery,” said the prosecutor.
“She denies having killed them. (…) She denies having intended to kill them,” she said.
“She was not able to date her two deliveries, which would have taken place several years ago. (…) All this in great confusion and at a time when this young woman was in great distress at the same time psychological and a bit in a period of wandering and drug addiction,” added the Annecy prosecutor.
The companion of the mother not charged
His companion since 2019, who had been abroad since mid-December, had been placed in police custody for concealment of a corpse on January 5 upon his return to France, then released the next day without any charges being brought against him. him.
“According to her statements, her current spouse is absolutely not the father of these babies. Without prejudice. She is in a state of great confusion”, concluded the magistrate.
