AVM published a laboratory update for the FRITZ!Box 7590 AX this Friday. Specifically, it is version 7.39-103176 of FRITZ!OS, which can be obtained via update or new installation. The changelog looks like this:

WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS:

  • Fixed On the “WLAN / radio channel” page, the displayed values ​​for the “Utilization of the current radio channel” (noise floor) were incorrect
  • Fixed On the “WLAN / radio channel” page, the WLAN radio networks in the area were not displayed in full

Note for users who are not using the laboratory version but want to try it out:

  1. Read and confirm the displayed notice on the Laboratory page from AVM to your FRITZ!Box.
  2. Click on “Download” and save the file on your computer.
  3. Unpacks the laboratory file (*.zip).
  4. Perform the update via the FRITZ!Box user interface and select “View: Advanced” in the footer.
  5. Select “System / Update” in the menu.
  6. Select the “FRITZ!OS file” tab. Save the settings of your FRITZ!Box. The execution must also be confirmed.
  7. Use “Select file” to select the firmware file that you previously downloaded.
  8. Click on “Start update”.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions.

The “Info” LED on the FRITZ!Box flashes during the update process. This expires when the update process is complete. Be patient, this process may take a few minutes. As soon as the update is complete, the FRITZ!Box is restarted and is then ready for operation again.
