Last week, prices at the pump rose slightly at service stations. The price of diesel remained lower than that of unleaded 95 for the third consecutive week.

A penny more. Last week, according to the latest figures published by the Ministry of Ecological Transition As of Friday February 17, diesel prices increased slightly on average at French service stations compared to the previous week.

The liter of diesel thus appears on average at 1.8382 euro per litre, that is to say one cent more than the previous week. The liter of diesel remains however lower than the liter of unleaded 95-E10. The price of the latter rose by half a penny last week, to 1.8776 euro.

Prices that remain high

After a significant upswing in early January, with the end of rebates at the pump, prices have since remained above the 1.80 euro per liter mark. Prices that are close to those recorded at the beginning of March 2022 and then in April 2022, in the first weeks of the war in Ukraine. Without however generally reaching 2 euros per litre.

The most modest motorists using their car to go to work can benefit from a fuel check of 100 euros until March 31. At the beginning of February, the CEO of Totalenergies Patrick Pouyanné had mentioned a possible return of a discount at the pump if the price of diesel went back to 2 euros.
