Two weeks after the end of the discounts, the price of diesel fell last week by 1.5 cents on average in France. Unleaded petrol 95 recorded a very slight increase of 0.2 cents.

Fuel prices remained fairly stable last week. On average in France, diesel was displayed at 1.8846 euros per liter, a drop of 1.5 cents compared to the previous week, notes the latest statement from the Ministry of Energy Transition stopped on Friday January 13.

For its part, unleaded petrol 95 E10 recorded a slight increase of 0.2 cents, to 1.8365 euros per litre.

Diesel therefore remains more expensive than petrol, a situation which should continue for some time to come.

If we look at the price history, diesel has returned to its level at the end of November, a period when reduced discounts of 10 cents by the State and 10 cents at Totalenergies still applied.

For gasoline, since the end of the discounts, the price has risen above 1.80 euros per liter, which had not happened since the end of July.

While the price of a barrel remains relatively low at present, the question remains as to how prices at the pump will evolve in the coming weeks, in a still unstable geopolitical context.

This Monday, the government kicked off its aid of 100 euros for low-income workers. A device that replaces discounts on prices at the pump.
