The Galaxy Store, Samsung’s application store present on Galaxy cell phones, had critical vulnerabilities detected that allow malicious people (hackers) access to users’ personal data. The security flaw was identified by researchers at NCC Group, a cybersecurity company, between November 23 and December 3, 2022.

Identified as CVE-2023-21433, the Galaxy Store vulnerability allows the attacker to access the personal data of Galaxy smartphone users, in addition to causing application failures. This allows the hacker to install any app on Samsung phones without the user’s knowledge.

Samsung has already released an update to fix the vulnerabilities

Although Samsung has already released an update for the Galaxy Store app (version 4.5.49.8), the company’s app store, not all Galaxy smartphones will be able to update. If your Samsung phone has Android 13, the security vulnerability will be addressed.

In case you didn’t know, every Samsung phone has two app stores, Google’s Play Store and the Galaxy Store, an app store created exclusively for its cell phones. That is, it is important that the user regularly access both apps from the stores to update the applications installed on the phone.
