Chihuahua, Chih.- The increase in gasoline prices has impacted sales at service stations between 6 and 10%, since motorists take more care of fuel consumption, announced Juan de Dios Loya, president of the Association of Gas Stations of Parral .

The representative of the gas station union explained that, although people have to move to work and companies continue with the transfer of merchandise, when costs rise, they look for ways to save money.

He explained that the tax support for the Special Tax on Production and Services (IEPS) for gasoline and diesel is provided by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit in accordance with the international price of oil and when it stabilizes, as is currently the case, it has gradually reduced the fiscal stimulus, with which the Federal Government begins to collect the estimated income from this tax, which raises the price of fuels.

In the United States, he added, the price of gasoline has fallen by around 18%, due to the drop in the price of oil.

So far this year, the Ministry of Finance has maintained a gradual reduction in fiscal stimuli for gasoline and diesel prices.

In the period from January 1 to 6, the stimulus to Magna gasoline, the one with the highest demand, stood at 54.80%, while the highest octane fuel (Premium), had a support of 29.15%. Diesel maintained a 100% discount in the IEPS fee, the equivalent of 6.5055 pesos for each liter purchased at service stations in the country. In the second week of the year, the stimulus for Magna gasoline was 61.44%, which meant an increase of 6.64% compared to the previous period; while Premium gasoline registered a stimulus of 40.11%; that is, an increase of 10.96% against the previous week, according to the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF). Diesel for its part had a stimulus of 98.52%.

For this week, the Ministry of Finance eliminated the tax support for Premium gasoline, for which consumers cover the full IEPS tax, which is 4.9987 pesos per liter, while it reduced the stimulus for Magna gasoline, standing at 21.65%. and for diesel that stood at 3.71%.
