The border crossings from Denmark to Germany are open again after a blockade of several hours by truck drivers protesting the introduction of a truck toll.

“We’re free to go again. There’s no more traffic jams heading north. Everything is free on the German side,” said a police spokeswoman this morning. According to the information, the A7 was blocked from around 5 a.m. Traffic resumed just before 8 a.m.

The trucks would move further to the north of Denmark with their protest column, said the spokeswoman. The NDR had previously reported about it.

According to media reports, the drivers had already lined up their trucks next to each other at the Padborg and Krusa crossings yesterday evening in protest against the toll. From 2025, a kilometer-based motorway toll for trucks is to be introduced in Denmark. The haulage companies are demanding that the toll be apportioned to the price of diesel. There were also protests in other parts of Denmark.
