The corona-related restrictions are over, the number of marriages is increasing. You can get married in these unusual places in Essen.
In Essen’s registry office in the Gildehofcenter there are various wedding rooms in the city center. They each offer 15 seats and 15 standing places and have a rather sober appearance.
The eight outdoor wedding areas have more atmosphere: It offers a baroque ambience Borbeck Castle: With up to 30 people you can get married here in the historic tower room and invite them to a champagne reception in another room.
Built in about 1830 Town Hall Kettwig it’s cozy: the tastefully furnished wedding room offers eleven seats and nine standing places. The waiting area offers plenty of space for the subsequent champagne reception.
In the listed building Heisingen town hall the wood-panelled former council chamber became a spacious wedding room with 25 seats and five standing places.
Also in decorative Kray town hall the wedding ceremonies take place in the former council hall. The room impresses with lots of wood and high ceilings and can also accommodate large wedding parties: there is 30 seats and just as many standing places. The sparkling wine can be served in the reception room.
From May 5, 2023, the White Fleet during the summer months some selected wedding dates on board: Here you can cruise across the Baldeneysee into the port of marriage.
Those who want Ruhr area flair, on the other hand, hit the spot with the World Heritage Zollverein the right choice: the recovery bunker in the former car circulation combines rust with romance. Here, too, there are only a few dates in the summer.
Also in Stadium Essen can be married for some time – not on the lawn, but in the Sparkasse lounge, which can seat up to 70 guests. There are additional costs, which are lower if several couples are getting married in the stadium on the same date.
The offers no stadium atmosphere, but a festive ambience with faience paintings “White Hall” in the Philharmonie, which can accommodate up to 130 wedding guests under chandeliers.
