You probably remember the stealth RPG Ghost of a Tale released in 2018. The independent project led by the very talented Lionel “Seith” Gallat aka SeithCG will officially be entitled to a sequel as shown by the first screenshot unveiled recently.

Switch to Unreal Engine 5 for the second opus of Ghost of a Tale

Initially announced in 2014, the first Ghost of a Tale developed under Unity was only released four years later. The stealth RPG puts us in the shoes of Tilo, a minstrel mouse looking to find his wife. To do this, Tilo will have to venture into unsavory places and roam the dungeon of Fort Deruine using cunning and futility to succeed in his quest.

Between its polished artistic direction and its captivating gameplay, Ghost of a Tale was a real success having even been entitled to two ports on Nintendo Switch and Amazon Luna.

While the doubt still hovered, SeithCG has finally confirmed the return of Ghost of a Tale with a screenshot posted on Twitter. We discover a place resembling the prison of the first opus, with very symbolic objects referring to it: mushrooms, an apple, candles and a wanted notice for Tilo on the wall.

On Twitter, Lionel Gallat clarified that he and his small team had only been on Unreal Engine 5 for 8 months. As with other projects under the famous Epic Games engine, developers have to relearn how to work with their tools and the deadlines are therefore extended. In other words, we will have to remain patient before having more concrete news about Ghost of a Tale 2.
