Several hundred participants gathered on Saturday (May 06, 2023) in Nuremberg for the “Global Marijuana March” to demonstrate for the legalization of cannabis.
The meeting will take place on Saturday and next weekend in 26 cities across Germany under the motto “Legalization instead of imprisonment”. In addition to the demonstration, the organizers several speakers and a large music system organized. In addition, an information stand was set up where one could find out more about cannabis.

As organizer Florian Söllner from “Cannabis Social Club Nuremberg” explained to News5, one proceeds from over 500 participants out of. Söllner designated the political handling of cannabis and the associated criminal prosecution as “crimes without victims”.
The relaxations planned by the traffic light coalition are “only on the way”, Söllner continued – and referred to the ongoing opening of criminal proceedings against users of the drug.
During the demonstration, which paraded through Nuremberg, the participants showed posters with inscriptions such as “I’m only here for weed” and carried a gigantic joint made of cardboard through the city center. In the meantime, the Bavarian state government has announced that it intends to stop legalization “by any means necessary” and has received some severe criticism for this.
