While CD Project Red celebrates the victory of Cyberpunk 2077’s act of love on Steam, some users of the Polish team’s proprietary platform continued to eagerly await the return of the service offered by GOG Conncetwhich allowed you to import some games from your Steam library on GOG itself.
However, in the last few hours some information has arrived which, unfortunately, will not make the fans happy: it would seem, in fact, that GOG has permanently deleted the GOG Connect service. All of this, however, would not have happened in the light of day, following the lack of any official and preventive communication regarding the definitive abandonment of the offer made available by GOG Connect.
In fact, the URL that initially allowed access to the features designed to be able to import some of your Steam titles to GOG does not redirect to the aforementioned service. Therefore, at least for the moment, it would seem that we are dealing with a definitive elimination. This can also be seen from the words of a GOG spokesman, who said he could confirm that GOG Connect is no longer supported and has been removed from the page.
The whole thing would have been also confirmed by some reports that appeared on the net: some users have said that they have noticed the aforementioned GOG Connect redirection problems for some time, even if it is a problem that they have only recently encountered. Therefore, there would be no positive news on the horizon for GOG Connect users.
However, the current service issues have not in no way affected the functionality of the GOG Galaxy service, which differs from GOG Connect but allows you to group your libraries on the various platforms in a single application. Meanwhile, on the production front, CD Project Red has many surprises in store for players, starting with the remake of the first The Witcher in Unreal Engine 5 and beyond.
