A Google Pixel Fold device has long been rumored to be on the way, and now Google has finally confirmed this by actually announcing the device. It was revealed as part of a weird Star Wars Day joke, with the tech company stating: “May The Fold Be With You”. Additionally, we got a first glimpse of the device as well as information on when we can expect to know more about it.

The website for the Pixel Fold says that Google will show off the device during the Google I/O keynote on May 10, and that’s about all we know officially about the phone right now. However, there is a disclaimer on the website which states:

“Pixel Fold coming soon. This device has not been authorized as required by the rules of the Federal Communications Commission or other regulators. These devices may not be sold or otherwise distributed until required legal authorizations have been obtained.”

Thus, there is a good chance that we will get a launch date this week, since the gadget has hopefully been authorized.

How keen are you on a folding mobile yourself?
