You will surely have noticed that, for a few days now, Goose Goose Duck has been on everyone’s lips and has reached an unexpected peak of connected users on Steam for a game over two years old. But why is this Among Us ‘clone’ back in the limelight?

The reason is very simple and is to be found in the East, more specifically in Korean territory. It all started last November 2022when the singer V of BTS, the well-known K-Pop band, has broadcast live streaming of some free to play games such as Among Us, Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout and, precisely, Goose Goose Duck. Since then, the game has slowly climbed the charts of the most played products until the first week of January 2023, when thanks to Kim Taehyung (real name of V from BTS) even managed to surpass the behemoths like PUBG and COD Warzone 2.0 on Steam with a peak of 563,677 players connected to the servers at the same time. Between the load of users and the attention of the bad guys, developers have recently also been forced to start some phases of scheduled maintenance and to hire cybersecurity experts to avoid serious problems.

For the uninitiated, Goose Goose Duck is a free game available on PC (Steam), Android, iPhone and iPad. The mechanics behind the title are very similar to those seen in Among Us, although it seems that the game offers some more in-depth systems with a higher number of playable roles.

Waiting to find out if the success of the game will continue in the coming weeks or if it is just a phase that will run out in a short time, we remind you that on our pages you can find the review of Among Us VR.
