The Prime Minister, Aïmene Benabderrahmane, chaired today, Wednesday February 22, 2023, a meeting of the Government, devoted to the examination of questions related to the sector of agriculture, energy, Health, post and telecommunications, trade, and communication, said a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
What about the area of trade during the Government meeting?
The Minister of Trade and Export Promotion presented a communication on free trade zones.
In this context, the results relating to the reflection launched on the operating mode relating to the creation of the first 5 commercial free zones in the medium and long term, in accordance with the new provisions of Law No. 22-15, were highlighted. of July 20, 2022, laying down the rules governing free zones.
In this respect, the Government has examined, in particular, the following points:
- the zones to be created in order of priority on the basis of economic criteria which take into account the vocation of each free zone and the specificities of each space proposed.
- the mode of financing to be adopted and the contribution of the State in terms of development and construction of basic infrastructure.
- the specifications fixing the methods of management and exploitation of the free zones.
This communication made it possible to draw up a roadmap aimed at setting up a real ecosystem favoring the emergence of free zones capable of stimulating a dynamic in terms of the creation of wealth and employment.
Creation of 5 medico-surgical hospitals and 1 anti-cancer hospital
The Government has examined a draft executive decree, presented by the Minister of Health, aimed at supplementing the list of specialized hospital establishments, appended to executive decree no. 97-465 of December 2, 1997, by creating five hospital establishments specialized in medico-surgical emergencies in the wilayas of Batna, Algiers, Annaba, Mascara, Oran and one (1) hospital specializing in the fight against cancer, in the wilaya of Tlemcen.
The construction of these structures is part of the implementation of the program of the President of the Republic, the health sector development plan and the national health policy which attaches great importance to emergencies. medico-surgical with regard to their priority and decisive missions for the health of the patient and the care of cancer patients.
The creation of these structures will thus facilitate patients’ access to health care and services, improve the patient’s care pathway and reduce the transfer of patients between public health establishments.
In the field of communication: what is the Dzair Media City project?
Finally, the Ministers of Communication and Housing, Town Planning and the City presented a presentation on the project to create a media city “Dzair Media City”.
This large-scale project aims to promote the audiovisual sector in Algeria through the creation of a global and integrated infrastructure bringing together the main players and media activities, namely studios for public and private TV and radio channels, the teleport ensuring the broadcasting via the latest technology platforms with a large data center based on artificial intelligence.
It also provides for a free zone to house the platforms of international social network operators who will use this gateway to send their content to Africa, the MENA region and Europe.
The “Dzair Media City” project will thus make it possible to create a professional environment backed by international norms and standards promoting the exercise of audiovisual activity through a better quality of TV and radio service, able to contribute to the promotion of image of Algeria”.
