Governors of various provinces gave their support to the implementation of a differential dollar at $300 to promote exports from the soybean complex and from the regional economies announced last Wednesday by the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa.

In addition to highlighting the benefits for the economies of their respective jurisdictions, the provincial leaders focused on sustaining employment, the possibility of opening new markets and improving competitiveness that the initiative generates.

In this line, the highest authorities of Misiones, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Tucumán, Río Negro, Chubut, Chaco and Catamarca manifested themselves.

“When the public sector and the productive sector work together, Argentina grows. Thanks to the regional economies and the governors for their support and trust. #CreoEnArgentina,” Minister Massa said this afternoon through his account on the social network Twitter .

Yesterday, the Government announced a new edition of the Export Increase Program (known as PIE and also informally renamed as “agro dollar”) that will reach the soybean complex and different regional economies offering them an exchange rate of $300 for each dollar exported. The benefit for the regional economies included in the measure will be extended until August 30.

From Misiones, Oscar Herrera Ahuad considered that the announcement will improve the competitiveness of the agro-industrial sector.

“We support as a provincial government the decision of Minister Sergio Massa to create conditions for competitive exports from our regional economies such as yerba mate, tea, tobacco and the forestry industry,” he said in a message on his Twitter account.

Then, in statements to the press, he added that “the differential dollar will also allow the industrial sector to recover its competitiveness and open up new markets, generating hundreds of jobs throughout the province. Trust between the provincial government and the producers is essential for the success of these initiatives.”

In addition, the governor of the province of Entre Ríos, Gustavo Bordet, affirmed that “this will help sustain many sources of work, improving competitiveness and giving predictability to the production affected by the drought.”

For his part, the governor of the province of Tucumán, Juan Manzur, celebrated “the recent economic measures adopted by the National Government that go in the direction of strengthening the development of our regional economies.”

Meanwhile, the governor of Chubut, Mariano Arcioni, highlighted that the measures announced by Massa are great news for the wool sector and stated that “the new exchange rate will allow producers to have greater profits with the commitment to open new markets, sustain employment levels and guarantee a greater production volume and supply for domestic consumption”.

In this sense, Jorge Capitanich, governor of Chaco, supported the minister’s announcement in support of regional economies and stressed that it will allow the province to increase exports. “Chaco led this indicator in the NEA during the year 2022 and has new investments aimed at expanding the supply of the Domestic market and exports,” said the governor.

The Governor of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, expressed his support for the announcement of the Export Increase Program and affirmed that “this measure will not only boost the economies, but will provide more employment and development opportunities for the provinces.”

Lastly, the National Senator and candidate for governor of Río Negro, Alberto Weretilneck, highlighted the minister’s announcement and affirmed that “the implementation of a differential exchange rate will allow to prop up the value paid for this production that is destined for export ”.
