The obligation to leave the territory is one of the procedures most dreaded by Algerian nationals established in France. Indeed, some of the latter choose to live in the shadows just to escape the application of this procedure and stay in France.

This is the case of this Algerian national who finds himself in an irregular situation in France, but who was the subject of a chase for having refused to comply.

Grenoble: an Algerian under OQTF seriously injured after running into a policeman

The facts date back to Wednesday April 5, a simple roadside check almost turned into a tragedy. Indeed, the 25-year-old man, who was driving a Peugeot 206, refused to comply as a police patrol tried to arrest him.

Moreover, to arrest him, the police took advantage of the stoppage of the fugitive’s vehicle at an intersection to use an electric pulse gun, but in vain. The chase continues and the undocumented Algerian pursues dangerous maneuvers to escape. The latter even tries to run into a policeman he almost knocked down.

However, the latter tried a new gesture to stop Algeria. He then uses his service weapon, hitting the undocumented person in the groin. Despite this injury, the Algerian national manages to flee.

Two open investigations

Some time later, the firefighters received a call from a young woman. The latter said that her 25-year-old husband was injured by a gun. He was rushed to hospital. In the meantime, two investigations have been launched. The first for attempted murder of a person holding public authority.

The second is opened in particular by the IGPN, wounds with a weapon by a person holding authority committed on the driver of the vehicle, indicates the public prosecutor of Grenoble, in his press release. The first elements of the investigation made it possible to know a little more about this Algerian national established in France. Indeed, it is a man who was subject to an obligation to leave French territory, enforceable without delay. But who is already known and wanted by the judicial services. In particular, for the use of narcotics, hit and run offenses, as well as for carrying a weapon.
