Iberdrola buys two onshore wind farms from Greenvolt Power in Poland

Madrid, Jul 28 (EFECOM).- Iberdrola has completed the purchase of two onshore wind farms under construction in Poland, both owned by Greenvolt Power, a subsidiary of the Greenvolt group focused on renewable energy, the Spanish company reported this Friday.

The Podlansek and Wólka Dobryńska wind farms, located in the northeast of the country, have been acquired from the Polish company Augusta Energy, owned 50% by Greenvolt and the K-Gal investment fund.

These parks, which have a total capacity of 50 megawatts (MW), are scheduled to come into operation in the second half of the year and could cover the demand of 50,000 homes per year.

However, all the energy generated by these facilities is already sold to the telephone operator T-Mobile for the next 15 years and the price will be fixed, although it will be readjusted periodically based on the inflation rate.

Iberdrola intends to reach 1,000 MW in operation in Poland by 2030.

Currently, it has three onshore wind farms in operation -Korytnica 1, Korytnica 2 and Zopowy-, which, added to the two parks acquired, now brings its installed capacity in the country to 212.8 MW.

Iberdrola also has a pipeline of 2,000 MW under development, which is expected to come into operation between 2025 and 2030.

Poland is one of the largest renewable energy markets in the European Union (EU), with strong growth in electricity consumption and is a country committed to replacing coal, which currently accounts for 71% of electricity generation, as the main source of electricity production. EFECOM
