At the end of the first day of arguments in the trial for the crime of Fernando Báez Sosathe young man’s parents spoke to the media stationed in the Courts of Dolores. “My son was murdered in the worst way and I want them to pay because they are murderers, they had no mercy. I want them to pay, to give them the maximum sentence, so that the judges’ hands do not tremble when they hand down the sentence because they deserve it “expressed Grace Sosaand added: “I fully trust that justice will be done for Fernando.”
Regarding the request for life imprisonment for the eight defendants, both from the Prosecutor’s Office and from their lawyers, the woman said: “We have always asked for an exemplary sentence for everyone and I agree with what the Prosecutor’s Office and from Dr. (Fernando) Burlando requested”.
“It is very hard to see Fernando, how they attacked him in the worst way, I see my son kneeling, lying down, that everyone surrounded him, that everyone took it upon himself to kick him… they are all murderers, they had no mercy on him, I only ask for Justice for him and that he can rest”, he maintained, and concluded: “They are not human and they must pay for what they did, they were aware, they celebrated it”.
For her part, her husband silvino baezHe thanked them for the support they receive daily from ordinary people who approach them and said that it was a “very hard and very difficult” day. Asked about the possibility that both he and his wife speak this Thursday on the second day of allegations, Báez said that they will do what his lawyer says. By way of previewing what he would say to the court, he noted: “I would tell them to think about their children and the children of the neighbours, who deserve to go out and have fun and return home”.
