And he would still have gotten mad at a journalist who dedicated himself to giving him picones… but no: the mayoress of Cuauhtémoc, Sandra Cuevas, could not stand the kind interview that the no less kind Adriana Pérez-Cañedo gave her.
In order to see what’s up with the controversial “remodeling” of Giordano Bruno square, Sandra Cuevas was interviewed by Pérez-Cañedo. Not even four minutes passed, when the mayoress revealed her discomfort at being questioned about what seems to be a not-so-necessary remodelingif compared with other problems of the mayor’s office (and what it means at the human rights level of migrants).
“I believe that all of you, the media, must do your job correctly (…) the question should be to the head of government”said Sandra Cuevas… well, you know, teaching an experienced journalist like Pérez-Cañedo how to do the job.
The indication of Cuevas is because, According to her, all the questions and disagreements that there are for her person, should be for the head of government of the CDMX, Claudia Sheinbaum. That is, instead of asking her, why so much insistence on giving a cat’s hand to a square where migrants awaiting their paperwork took refuge, ask Sheinbaum the reason for opposing “progress”.
“Why do they focus on a mayor who all she wants is to see her mayor’s office better? (…) I urge the media to ask the questions they ask a simple mayor to the head of government”, recommended Sandra Cuevas.
Quiúbole with the fight between Cuevas and Sheinbaum with the Plaza Giordano Bruno
According to what many accuse in networks, it is all because in reality Sandra Cuevas cannot bear to see the groups of migrants who, until recently, camped in said square, waiting for their procedures (since the Giordano Bruno is located a few blocks from the Commission for Aid to Refugees (COMAR)…
And, well, nothing Now that there are migrants in that area, Cuevas was very prudent to start with “remodeling” work… which meant evicting the migrants. And “remodeling” in quotes, since, according to what the mayoress explained to Adriana Pérez-Cañedo, it is only about fixing a light, planting some trees and, perhaps, changing the paving stones.
Despite the fact that the work does not seem so monumental, Sandra Cuevas ordered the entire square to be fenced off… and the head of government ordered them to withdraw. And that’s where the mess started… which, says the mayoress of Cuauhtémoc, is only a cloud of smoke to cover the million dollars that will be spent on the Rosalía concert in the Zócalo.
Returning with the humorous interview in which Cuevas unstitched us, she assured that she had all the necessary permits to carry out the remodeling. However, Pérez-Cañedo made him see that the instances that granted them (according to) do not have the power:
“Giordano Bruno square is considered a cultural heritageTherefore, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing and the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature are exclusively empowered to give permission to remodel or intervene “. the journalist pointed out.
In short, the interview ended in a most strident way. They do not believe? Just check it out:
