Game news Gran Turismo 7: the PC version already in preparation? The creator of the license clarifies his declaration

Not long ago, Kazunori Yamauchi cast doubt on the potential port of Gran Turismo 7 on PC. The famous creator of the Gran Turismo saga has just clarified his previous response.

A PC version that is desired

The PC has always been something of a neutral platform for developers, hosting both Xbox and Playstation exclusives. Sony has also recently wanted to invest more in the PC market, with ports like god of war, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Uncharted, Marvel’s Spider-Man or
Days Gone and Returnal shortly. The PC versions of Playstation exclusives are multiplying, but the proposal is not systematic. Many players expect games in particular, like Gran Turismo.

Gran Turismo 7: the PC version already in preparation? The creator of the license clarifies his declaration

The Racing-sim is a genre particularly appreciated by platform players, but they have never had the chance to get their hands on one of the license opuses. A situation that could potentially change in the future, as Kazunori Yamauchi recently indicated. The creator of the saga said recently that Polyphony Digital was “interested in the PC and considering” a port of Gran Turismo 7. a statement far from having gone unnoticed, which has just been talked about again.

Where is the PC version of GT7?

In a new interview with Dengeki Online, Kazunori Yamauchi was again asked about a potential PC version of GT7. Quite vague during his first response and then leaving some doubt about the development of such a port, the creator wanted to clarify the situation. Yes, the PC version of Gran Turismo is being considered, but it is not currently in development.

This is not true (about a PC version of GT7 in development). I replied “(as a developer) it’s not like I haven’t considered all the possibilities”. This means that the probability is not zero, but if you simply ask me “are you doing something concrete?” I do nothing at all. There is nothing to say. – Kazunori Yamauchi.

In sum, Yamauchi-san does not condemn the development of a PC version of Gran Turismo 7, but for the moment, no one is actively working on this project. We will therefore have to wait longer before having news of this potential portage. In the meantime, racing fans and PC gamers can always console themselves with Forza Motorsportwhich should be available on the platform from the day of its release.
