It’s a merry band of superheroes that clashes a bit in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (the MCU for aficionados). First because they are undoubtedly between superheroes and antiheroes. Ironic and crazy, the Guardians of the Galaxy operate more like a dysfunctional family than a team of extraordinary people. Also because, unlike the majority of the figures of the DC competitor, their playground is not limited to the earth, but rather to space and a set of planets (as indicated to them). After a first installment, released in 2014, which laid the foundations for these colorful characters, they return three years later, still in front of James Gunn’s camera (saddened by Martin Scorsese’s criticism of Marvel).

To infinity and beyond

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Logically picks up where the first part left off. Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Racoon, and Groot travel the galaxy completing all sorts of missions. At the end of one of them, they alienate the people of the Sovereigns and their leader Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki). Pursued in space by their powerful fleet, they land in disaster on a planet. They then meet Ego (Kurt Russell) and Mantis (Pom Klementieff).

We sometimes change a winning team

In the Marvel family, the Guardians of the Galaxy are not the most famous. However, in the comics, their first appearance does not date from yesterday since they point the tip of their nose in 1969, only nine years after Iron Man. But in about forty years, the members of this superheroic team change several times. Since 2008, it has been made up of Star-Lord (Peter Quill), Rocket Racoon, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Mantis, Nebula, Thor, and Bug. It is, more or less, on this version that the MCU chooses to focus.

Sweat to remove make-up better

In this clique of superheroes, Drax pulls out of the game with his humor, sometimes in spite of himself, and his completely lunar character. Under the features of this mountain of muscle, the former wrestler Dave Batista shines with his charisma… and his look. Made up four hours each day in the first film, he spent about 90 minutes there in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. In the evening, he also had a technique of his own to remove it more easily: he sat in a sauna. Curious method!
