A actress plays the role of Ura, an employee who works in a corporate headquarters that is made of organic matter and, therefore, provides some of the most bizarre moments in the film.

“‘Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3’ was such an emotional journey about purpose and the most important things in the world: love and family,” wrote Melchior, in a post about the film. “Prepare to cry,” warned the actress.

Melchior, who had already been chosen by James Gunn for one of the main roles in “The Suicide Squad” in 2021, is once again part of the cast of a ‘blockbuster’ by the director.

The Portuguese woman is featured with honey-colored contact lenses and burgundy skin and her character plays an important role in the film’s narrative, James Gunn’s last with Marvel before taking over the leadership of competitor DC Studios.

“I’m going to miss these characters. That’s the sad part for me”, said the director, at a press conference attended by Lusa.

“Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3” brings together one last time the group that has become a phenomenon of popularity since the first film, which came out in 2014. James Gunn directed all three films in the trilogy.

“I thought we were doing something different from the start, a space fantasy that was different from what we’d seen before,” Gunn said.

The third part returns to have Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Zoë Saldaña as Gamora, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis and Dave Bautista as Drax, adding Chukwudi Iwuji as the villainous High Evolutionary and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock.

“We’ve done other trilogies before, but this one feels different and kind of a passing moment,” said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, explaining that “Guardians” was the first MCU movie that didn’t have Avengers.

“We didn’t just want to make a superhero movie, we wanted to make a space movie. And it worked”, considered Feige. “This trilogy represents something unique in the pantheon of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we are very proud of it.”

With good initial reviews, “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3” seeks to reverse the downward spiral of the last great Marvel productions, which did not have the critical or public acclaim that was expected.

Chris Pratt, the actor who became the group’s anchor and Star-Lord at the head of the Guardians, spoke about the crisis his character faces at the beginning of the film.

“He’s lost. He’s not the hero we know, the one who was always dancing around there,” Pratt described, citing a monologue that describes him as a man who’s been jumping from water lily to water lily, or from relationship to relationship, and you have to learn to swim.

“It’s a very human thing,” said the actor. “He’s someone who is constantly looking to find out who he is. When the relationship with Gamora disappears, he realizes he’s not any of these versions of himself and he’s lost,” he explained.

The film does justice to James Gunn’s explosive and bloody style but with the doses of humor that made the trilogy distinct and a more centered exploration of the characters and the emotional connection that the audience created with them.

“The goal has always been to do justice to viewers who have loved these characters their whole lives and those who haven’t,” explained Kevin Feige. The president said that James Gunn wrote the story based on the comic, so that the unfolding made sense taking into account the genesis of the characters.

There are also more comprehensive analyzes in the narrative, which introduces a “villain with a God complex born in a golden cradle”, as characterized by actor Chukwudi Iwuji, who embodies the High Evolutionary.

The opposite side of this “mad scientist” is embodied by Pom Klementieff with Mantis, an empathetic character who connects to everything and everyone in a profound way.

“Mantis was, in a way, the glue that held the Guardians together,” Klementieff said. “The world lacks empathy, so this is also a beautiful message.”

“Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3” premieres in Portuguese cinemas on Thursday, May 4th.
