Oscar Orué is appointed by the president-elect, Santiago Peña, to be the first head of the Directorate of Tax Revenues, institution recently created through a law that merges the Undersecretary of State for Taxation and the National Customs Office.
The law was enacted on August 4 and will be regulated once the new government takes office. Ingresos Tributarios will be a self-sufficient and autonomous entity with its own assets and of indefinite duration. The Ministry of Finance is the entity that governs the policies of this directorate in fiscal matters.
