– What feelings did you have?
– Not entirely happy because we went looking for the three points, clearly. It was not the match we planned. Maybe the first few minutes yes, we did well until the goal. And I think that’s where we failed, in not being able to maintain the game that we started.
“If we want to fight where we say we are going to fight, we have to improve,” he said.
– How did you feel?
– Good. The idea was to play more or less that time. He came from a long inactivity. The truth is that, within everything, in that sense it was positive.
– What do you think was missing?
– Maintaining that idea of the game that we had at the beginning, arriving in a good way, from the outside, perhaps without being able to finish the last pass of the best form. I think that. The goal affected us a lot, but we have to overcome it because these things are going to happen to us. So you have to work for it.
– In the second half they were not seen the same.
– Undoubtedly there is a self-criticism and that the second half we did not go out in the same way that we had done the first, which is ideal. But there are no excuses. The truth is that we have to improve and we know it. It is the second game and surely we will do it.
– How did you live the previous week and how did you see yourself on the court?
– With happiness. I am in the place where I wanted to be, the truth. Obviously, when the competition starts, it is the results that change the mood. But I’m happy to be here. I will do everything to make things right. To grow and for the club to continue to grow. I think that the path is this, that of the first minutes. We have to improve, as I said before. And we’re going to emphasize that.
– Did you notice misconceptions or not being able to control the game?
– I think we were affected by their goal. I don’t know if we had conceptual errors, but we do have to be more solid and stronger mentally because these things are going to happen, both here and on all pitches. So if we want to fight where we say we’re going to fight, we have to get better.
– How did you see the Arsenal goal? Was that exit rehearsed?
– They are plays that come out at the moment. If it’s a ball, it’s combed… It’s a goal from another game, really. If the ball is combed by Mauro, we are talking about something else. But hey, you don’t have to emphasize details that do define things, but I think the most important thing is to follow the thread of the first 20 minutes. And try to prolong them throughout the game.
“Mentally we have to be more solid and stronger,” said Carrillo.

– I don’t know if it’s attitude that was missing. For me, more game was missing. Attitude… It’s not an excuse but the field was very complicated. It was very hot. The fatigue was noticed in most of the players. I think there was an attitude. What was missing was game. It was encouraged to do what we had been doing. To what the coaching staff asks for. Now we have to emphasize that. We are going to improve it, I have no doubts. The matches are also going to give us filming. There are players who are just starting out on the team. I think you have to stay with those first 20 minutes and continue.
– Is it important to have quick revenge?
– Without a doubt. It is important. We know what the Argentine Cup is and how difficult it is. But we have a long squad and we’ll see what the coaching staff proposes. But you have to move on. This is just beginning and we are going to improve.
