The President of the Reconquista Council, Gustavo Lópezspoke about the political and cultural reality of the city, at the same time that he confirmed his intentions to accompany a project and a management that improves the quality of life of the inhabitants of the north of the province.
“We have many things on the agenda, which We are managing by the hand of Mayor Enrique Vallejos. It’s amazing how Reconquista has grown. Today I am in charge of the Council, but also I am part of and I feel proud of this municipal management that I was called up in November 2015. We are happy because it was unthinkable that we were going to have this rhythm in Reconquista and that it grows so fast. These are the things that remain for the people, the pavement, the sewer, the water works…”, he commented in dialogue with the journalist Oscar “Toti” Díaz.
Turistic development
Regarding the city’s objective of attracting visitors and guaranteeing the enjoyment of the local population, López highlighted the commitment that the Jaaukanigás Festival meant. It was about the “recovery of a natural festival in the city a long time ago. It is unthinkable that this first call would have had this amount of people. A lot of work was done for this, the mayor developed it a lot.”
According to the interviewee, “It is something that came to stay”. The population had the chance to enjoy such an event, with the possibility of having established musicians. “Also in awe of the amount of talent we have in our community and region. They were up there with any artist, they can play as many venues as they want.”
The objective is work to maintain it and continue to do so. There are things to correct as well, since “not everything went perfectly, which is logical, it’s the first time, so many people weren’t expected.” In this sense, “everything is to improve, put more chemical toilets, label the chairs, leave corridors for people to circulate… Well, everything can be improved, although the most important thing was done, which was the event.”
But this is not all, too a beach space was recovered and the city will have a precious place for all the people. “The marina is turning out very nice, with grills. We have a beautiful place for people in the island area, the municipality bought 40 hectares, where the rally was held, and it will be granted as a concession for a company that wants to invest. The new secretary of Tourism, whoever occupies the place, will have to give it the imprint that the management has been bringing. Reconquista is destined to be a tourist place by nature“.
extraordinary sessions
Although the recess is being enjoyed, tomorrow there will be extraordinary sessions of the Council to discuss some important points. “We have 3 or 4 files that were pending. one has to do with safe bike lanes, we had a problem in one of the works that we have to inaugurate. We are going to approve the initiative, surely, because it means more works for the city, more safety for cyclists.”
“Then we have the Assignment on loan of a property in the city of Reconquista. At the time it was thought for the honey extraction plant, but the beekeepers did not use it. The Secretary of Production, Guillermo Manzur, thought of a proposal from people who want to assemble electric cars in our city, it would be the third space of these characteristics in the country, which is very important. On the other hand, you have to approve some subsidies that need an ordinance to be able to leave“.
In turn, he commented that the Different forces will ask the National Government together for the definitive improvement of Route 11to have a quality road, “as we deserve. The electoral year has already begun and the different political forces are debating what to do in the face of the crisis and the challenges that arise. Gustavo López does not run from his place and bets on more.
